About the Collector

Viktor Weinstein MSc is an economist and art market researcher whose lifelong engagement with art began in childhood.
Born into an artistic family — both parents being visual artists — he started collecting and trading art at sixteen, developing an early sensitivity for form, provenance, and historical context.

Weinstein’s passion lies in identifying and preserving works that are aesthetically refined yet academically underrepresented.
For him, collecting is not an act of possession, but a contribution to Europe’s cultural memory — a way of keeping art’s intellectual and emotional continuity alive through careful research, conservation, and documentation.

Vision

To create a bridge between art, research, and cultural memory.

The Gaupan Collection aspires to preserve and contextualize works that illuminate the evolution of European modern art — from forgotten narratives to rediscovered voices.
Its goal is to foster dialogue between scholarship and the public, encouraging a deeper understanding of how art reflects identity, history, and change.

By building an accessible archive of modern creativity, the collection aims to contribute to the living continuity of Europe’s artistic heritage.

Our Mission

Preserving the legacy of European modernism

The Gaupan Collection is dedicated to researching, preserving, and presenting artworks that reflect the intellectual and emotional evolution of modern art in Europe.
Through careful documentation and curatorial insight, the collection seeks to bridge scholarship and aesthetic experience — making visible the artistic currents that shaped the 20th century.

Independent and research-driven, Gaupan Collection aims to contribute to the understanding of art as both a cultural archive and a living dialogue between past and present.
